Ravintola Yak-Nak
Yak-Nak is a vibrant Nepalese and Indian fusion restaurant located on Pinninkatu in Tampere, offering a delicious mix of authentic Nepalese street food, classic Indian curries and inventive comfort dishes in a friendly, colourful setting. The kitchen brings together flavours from the Himalayas and the Indian subcontinent, letting guests enjoy both the beloved Indian curries (intialaiset curryt) as well as unique Nepalese specialities (nepalilaiset erikoisuudet) that aren’t always found in traditional curry houses.
Starters include crunchy Samosa (samosa) filled with seasoned vegetables and Veg Pakora (vegaaninen pakora) — crisp fried mixed vegetables seasoned with spices and served with cool dips. Authentic Mo:Mo (mo:mo) dumplings — either steamed or fried — are stuffed with spiced kana (chicken) or kasvis (vegetables) and finished with tangy tomato dip. These bite-sized treats pair perfectly with refreshing Lassi (lassi) yogurt drinks or classic Indian breads like naanleipää (naan bread) and paratha (paratha).
Curry lovers will find hearty options such as Murga Makhni / Butter chicken (voi kana) — tandoori-marinated chicken in rich cashew-tomato cream sauce — and Murga Tikka Masala (kana tikka masala) with tender grilled chicken in spiced masala. Vegetarian and vegan curries like Tofu masala (tofu masala) and Aloo Chana Masala (peruna-kikhernecurry) bring vibrant plant flavours, while classics like Palak paneer (palak paneer) and Shahi Paneer (shahi paneer) showcase creamy kasviscurryt (vegetable curries).
Yak-Nak also offers unique street food specials such as wok-style Chow Mein (chow mein) noodles and Bhuteko Bhat (bhuteko bhat) fried rice, as well as hearty combos like Crunchy-Yak kana (crunchy-yak chicken) with naan and dips. Signature Yak-Nak Special Sizzler (yak-nak sizzler) brings grilled lammas (lamb), kana (chicken) and jättikatkarapu (king prawns) in masala curry with rice, raita and salad.
With its mix of Nepalese soul food and fragrant Indian classics, Yak-Nak delivers a flavour adventure that satisfies both traditional curry fans and those looking to explore Himalayan tastes.
